Web Design/Development
After teaching myself HTML in 1996 to take over updating the website of my department at the University of Washington, I continued by doing website production for Sierra Online; creating new sections on WRQ's company site, including the newly launched mini-localized versions in French and German. From there, I moved on to teach HTML and Web Design at Seattle Central Community College for almost five years.
My specialty is creating web standards compliant websites with CSS-based layout. I incorporate my knowledge of information architecture, web design theory, usability, color theory and typography into my designs to create beautiful, content-rich websites that are easy to navigate.
- Use of current web standards, hand-coding, validation of mark-up, and cross-browser testing; adept at using Dreamweaver and Homesite.
- Outstanding attention to detail and troubleshooting skills.
- Resourceful and quick to learn new skills, techniques, and standard practices.
